Operation: Helping Hands
Twenty-one members of our parish traveled to New Orleans in January 2008 to engage in a week’s rehabilitation of housing damaged by Hurricane Katrina. They did whatever needed to be done to help those who have, in many cases, lost everything to the elements of wind and rain. Doubtlessly, you have read and seen reports in the news and on the television about the slow and inept efforts to aid in recovery. We have been told that it is faith-based groups that are having the biggest positive impact in that city.

Many Maria Regina parishioners contributed to help offset the transportation and related costs.  Thank You!

Maria Regina is planning to send another group of parishioners to New Orleans in October 2008.  To find out more information, contact the Rectory and watch the Bulletin.
