Support Maria Regina’s “Shopping Cents” Gift Card Program. If you go shopping each week, or if you need a gift card for a gift, you can help out Maria Regina at no cost to you. Buy gift cards to pay for your purchases at supermarkets as well as a variety of other retailers. Take advantage of this program and you can receive a free $25 gift card for every $1250 of cards you buy each year

Memorial Walkway and Children’s Garden of Remembrance. Here at Maria Regina, we have the Children’s Garden of Remembrance as well as the Maria Regina Memorial Walkway. (These are both located behind the school) Engraved bricks can be purchased with the name of your loved one, a special occasion, or a prayer of gratitude. Each brick is $100.; forms can be picked up at the Rectory Office. If you have any questions, call the Rectory at 798-2415 and ask for Judy Fasano.


The Maria Regina Innkeepers is a group of dedicated parishioners who meet weekly to make sandwiches and hot meals for people within the parish as well as the Inn in Hempstead. Since its inception in 2001, the Innkeepers have made over 320,376 sandwiches and over 64,490 hot meals. An average of 12 people serve food to people at the Inn in Hempstead weekly. Thanks to your donations of peanut butter and jelly and monetary support the Innkeepers are able to continue their ministry. CHILDRENS GARDEN RESTORATION
Richard Canter is doing an Eagle Scout project to restore the Children’ Garden of Rem. on Aug. 21/22. It involves weeding, trimming, planting flowers, perennials and bulbs. Dates for pre-project work will be the week of Aug. 16. Anyone who wants more info, to volunteer or to donate supplies or tools, please call 781-2821 or email: richardseagle project@gmail.com.


HUMAN LIFE COMMITTEE Mark your calendar! Rosary Walk for Life to honor the Queenship of Mary. Come and give witness to the sanctity of life. Aug. 22nd—5:30 pm, parish Mass then a walk (1.5 miles) to St. William the Abbot for Benediction. Car Caravan (for non-walkers). Rain or Shine! Call 799-0190 or 541-8056 with any questions. Maria Regina 3rd Annual “Helping Hands” BBQ.
 This is a fund raiser to help defray the cost of sending our third group of volunteers to New Orleans in January, 2011. Saturday, August 28, 2010 after the 5:30 pm Mass $7.50 per person $20.00 per family Hot dogs, burgers and salads Coffee, tea, beer and soda Live music!! BLOOD DRIVE SEPTEMBER 12, 2010 Our summer blood drive will be on Sunday, Sept. 12th. Mark the date on your calendar. You cannot donate whole blood after July 18th to be a donor at our drive! Sign up for our Blood Drive on Sept. 12th will take place on Sun, Aug. 22nd from 7am to 1pm.


Save the Date...Put this on your frig… Sunday, Sept. 12th is Grandparents’ Day. It is also Back to School/Backpack Sunday here at our parish. All school children and their parents/ grandparents are invited to attend the 10:30 am Mass as we bless the children at the start of the new school year and to acknowledge and bless our beloved grandparents.


The Maria Regina Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will be participating in the Society’s annual FRIENDS OF THE POOR WALK at Bethpage State Park on Sept. 25. If you would like to participate, or to sponsor a walker, please visit the Society’s website at: www.svdpusa.org, click on Friends of the Poor Walk, and sign up.
