Maria Regina’s Youth Ministry Mission Statement

To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6.8

Maria Regina’s Youth Ministry Program is a vibrant and welcoming youth community that surrounds youth with an unconditional love that fosters genuine relationships, anchors them in the joys and traditions of the Roman Catholic faith and energizes and equips them to extend the love of Christ to the world. Our Mission is to actively work for the transformation of the world by awakening and deepening our own personal faith in order to be Christ-bearers for our world. It is through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ that our youth experience empowerment to become “agents of change” and to live lives fully surrendered to God through prayer, retreats, service opportunities and social gatherings.

April 15th Parish “New Life Breakfast”  We are hoping to create a wonderful “New Life Breakfast” for parishioners after each Mass on April 15th. For those families attending the Family Mass, they  will have the opportunity to enjoy an added treat ~ a visit from the Easter Bunny and an Easter Egg Hunt for the children. The breakfast will once again be a fund raiser for World Youth Day. Anyone interested in participating in any way, please contact Meg. As the new kid in town she really can use some helpers!

May 4th – May 5th Overnight Lock-In Experience for teens 8th grade and up. Any teens interested in joining in on the planning, please contact Meg.

Habitat for Humanity Housing Project, Celebrates Life! Build Date: Saturday, April 28, 2012 Youth Ministry will be offering any parishioner an opportunity to participate in this wonderful event by sponsoring a teen builder for the day. Your monetary donation will help to offset the supplies needed for the day, and at the same time, you will have the opportunity to celebrate the life of a loved one living or deceased. For those who do, they will be given a certificate in honor of their loved one, plus the knowledge that their contribution has provided a family with a home.

July 24 – July 28, 2012: Youth Retreat/Service Opportunity At St. Joseph Renewal Center in Brentwood. This event had its debut last summer and was extremely successful and great fun. If you are at all interested, please contact Meg as soon as possible to receive the service/retreat brochure enabling you to register. Space is limited!
